Simon has helped us with a number of projects, including most recently taking charge of the fluent and effective management of our highly complex admissions cycle last year when we were short-staffed because of long-term illness of a senior member of staff.

Simon is highly intelligent, very experienced and a very effective communicator and team player who will quickly establish both confidence on the part of, and rapport with, any colleagues with whom he is working. He has excellent IT skills and quickly displayed an excellent understanding of the processes and constraints. He worked extremely effectively with colleagues in managing this process and in communicating with prep schools and other stakeholders and it is always a pleasure to work with such a highly competent, able and flexible colleague.

With his great experience of senior management and leadership within education, Simon has an enviable ability quickly to pick up an issue or area of responsibility and to take people with him as necessary to achieve successful outcomes. Departmental Appraisal

Thank you for your excellent, comprehensive independent review of our Mathematics Department, which considered how the department was organised, assessed the quality of the lessons and the pupils’ work, interrogated the scope and relevance of the schemes of work, and judged how well pupils achieved in relation to their ability.

The review was thorough and searching, and the observations and recommendations made in the well-structured, cogent 5,500-word report were well evidenced and founded on secure judgments.

As a result the department is in the process of making a number of key changes which will undoubtedly result in better outcomes for the pupils, enabling them to achieve their potential (and beyond) in their study of mathematics.

Simon Wilson came to do inspect our Mathematics Department, and it is hard to describe what a thorough and professional job he did. He managed to gather a great deal of information in a short time and his report was insightful and wise. All pupils, teachers and the Head of Department enjoyed talking to him and the process had none of the bureaucracy or sense of threat one could picture from a mock inspection. However, his report was candid and contained excellent suggestions for marginal improvements. I can recommend him wholeheartedly and we would certain use him again in the future.
